Dear Jennifer,
L.I.S.T.
September here in Maine is a month of autumn walks and apple-picking.  It is also the month where the stores start to put out the all-too-tempting treats to be given out at Halloween.  As we start to plan and look forward to tremendous family feasts at both Thanksgiving and Christmas, we should also start to be more aware of eating habits.  Now is the time to exert some control and develop healthy habits because two months from now, temptation to eat anything and everything will be great.

christmasIt seems last week, in my excitement, I got a little ahead of myself.  100 Days to Christmas does indeed launch on September 16, only NOW there are 108 days to Christmas. You'll want to visit everyday to help find inspiration to start planning and getting organized early and  motivation to plug away in the midst of the holiday season.

Healthy eating does not always have to mean counting calories or carbs or fat grams. Sometimes the only motivation you need when watching what you eat is documented proof. If you feel like you are being careful with what you consume but are still left wondering why you can't seem to lose any weight, maybe the answer lies in the simple act of writing it all down. When you are held accountable, even to yourself, you might think twice about popping that leftover chicken nugget that your child wisely left behind. You might choose half of a can of soda over guzzling the entire can.

All that is required to keeping a food journal is a commitment to jotting down whatever you eat or drink for a period of time.  You might discover a pattern that gives you insight into a weight problem.  Or maybe you'll realize that you don't get near enough fiber in your everyday diet.  At List Plan It, you'll find many pages to let you track your healthy (or unhealthy) habits in the Personal Interests section such as a Food Journal, a Calorie Tracker, a Breast Health Journal, a Medications Tracker, an Exercise Log, and more.
