list of things to do this first holiday weekend

Here in America, it’s the day after Thanksgiving.  The day when early-morning shoppers stand in line and rush about looking for the best deals (trying to work off a little turkey).   However, once the packages are purchased and put away, it is tempting to let your satisfaction lull you into a state of complacency.  This weekend is full of potential to accomplish much.  It is still before things get crazy and rushed, so whether you feel way behind in preparations or are right on target for a peaceful December, I would venture that there is still much to do.  Here are some possible things that can be done this weekend in order to get more in the holiday spirit.

    • Put away all Fall/Thanksgiving decorations.
    • Give home a good dusting and vacuuming in preparation for holiday decor.
    • Make a family outing to get your tree.
    • Locate holiday music or create holiday stations on Pandora.com or Last.fm to get you in the holiday spirit.
    • Bring out your holiday tubs and boxes and begin to decorate your home.
    • Check out your local paper for holiday events and activities in your area.
    • Make progress on your cards.  Address envelopes, order photos, fill out cards.

What are your plans for this weekend?  Do you have any fun holiday events to attend?  Are you excited about the start of the holiday season, or are you feeling overwhelmed?
