list of people to remember to include on your gift list
On your gift list, you’ve got your parents, your husband, your kids: check, check, check. But if you are anything like me, there are a slew of people that you choose to ignore until mid-December when it all of a sudden occurs to you that you didn’t buy them a present, but maybe you should! I’m a firm believer in not feeling obligated to buy or make EVERYONE a gift. I know the exterminator comes to your house 4 times a year, but that does not mean you should feel guilt over not giving him a present. For most of the people on this list, it is perfectly acceptable to present a handmade gift, a small but thoughtful gift, or a gift card.
- Teachers
- Bus Drivers
- Caregivers
- Instructors (piano teachers, karate instructors, etc)
- Boss/Co-workers
- Religious leaders
- Friends
- Neighbors
- Aunts & Uncles
- Humane Society or local Shelter (toiletries and supplies make good gifts here)

Thank you!! I wrote those down. I always seem to forget these… and here I thought I was already doing so well on my Christmas shopping!! :-)
I’m surprised no one has mentioned your mail carrier. I usually tape a card to the mailbox labled, “Mail Carrier” and include a nice giftcard of some type (maybe a Marriott giftcard, or a SPA gift certificate…)and a thank you note.
I live in a small town and our mail carrier is really great. I appreciate her and all she does to get our mail into our sometimes falling down mailbox, and how she hand delivers to our door the boxes and envelopes that don’t fit into our mailbox.
But every year I forget until the last minute to put something special, for her, in our box. But not this year! I am determined to not to do that! So in answering the question, in the longest way possible, the mail carrier:)

I always forget the random friend who you never would have thought would show up with a present and ta-da there they are on your doorstep with a present! YIKES! I usually try to keep a Toblerone or some other fun candy on hand for those moments, something is better than nothing!
