list of things to consider when choosing a kid-friendly hotel

Just got back from our weekend trip to Boston with a 2-night stay. 5 people in 2 double beds! Not easy (especially with a 2-year-old who never stops flipping and flopping).   I learned a few things about choosing a kid-friendly hotel from this trip.  Here are some suggestions for the next time you are considering booking a hotel for a family trip.

  • Is it in a safe location?
  • Does it have convenient parking?
  • Or, is it convenient to public transportation?
  • Does it have a restaurant?
  • Or, are the restaurants in close proximity?
  • Does it have a swimming pool?
  • Does it have green space nearby to burn off some antsy energy?
  • Does it have cable TV?
  • How many beds do you need and what size will suit your family?
  • Does it have a business center to look up last minute directions, first aid tips, or hours of attractions?

What are your suggestions for choosing a kid-friendly hotel?
